After many years working for Scarsdale Vets in a client care capacity, Val has decided it’s time to retire to spend more time with Honey (her golden retriever) and her wider family.
I first met Val at Scarsdale Vets back in the 90s when she worked for the practice at our Kedleston Road hospital and I was a Veterinary Student. In the last few years she has been my right-hand man and loyal, reassuring, familiar face at our Duffield practice. Always there to offer a reassuring pat, comforting tone and support when needed to aid in a consultation. Many days she had a waiting room of clients, just popping by for a chat and some friendly advice. On many occasions she helped direct traffic on the A6 to help clients and their pets cross the road safely, and on one occasion a brood of ducklings and their mum!
She will be missed by all of us here at Scarsdale Vets and the many pet owners of Duffield and surrounding areas.
Good luck Val – you will be greatly missed.
