Travel with your pet to the EU will still be possible after March 29th 2019, however you may need to take some additional steps in the event of a no deal Brexit.
Requirements For EU Travel With Pets After 29th March 2019
The Government recommend your contact your local vet practice at least four months before if you are travelling after 29th March 2019 to check what you need to do e.g. if you are travelling to the EU on 30th March, they recommend you seek advice from your vet to discuss requirements by 28th November 2018 at the latest.
- Your pet must be microchipped and vaccinated against rabies before travel.
- A blood sample must be taken and tested at least 30 days after the rabies vaccination.
- You must wait at least three months following a successful blood sample before travelling to the EU with your pet.
