Meet Ruth Bock

Veterinary Nurse

Ruth qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2008 with Bottle Green Training.

She started her veterinary nursing career at a small animal practice in Ilkeston then moved to a tier 3 hospital in Derbyshire, where she honed and developed her nursing skills. She worked in all aspects of small animal nursing, but discovered a passion for nurse consultations.

After 10 years working here, she moved on to the next challenge and joined the team at Scarsdale Vets Alfreton.

Ruth has a particular interest in advising clients on keeping their pets fit and healthy. I have a keen focus for weight clinics, osteoarthritis clinics as well as guinea pig and rabbit husbandary clinics.

Outside of work she lives with her husband, Jess – a three legged Staffordshire bull terrier X and an expanding herd of guinea pigs! They enjoy holidays and any free time is usually booked with a dog holiday full of lovely walks or a jam packed adventure itinerary exploring a new country!

After having always wanting to learn to ride a horse as a child, finally 3 years ago Ruth took the plunge and booked some lessons which she thoroughly enjoy and can now enjoy hacking out in the countryside with friends.
