Victoria Walker – Clinical Nursing Manager
Victoria started working for Scarsdale Vets in 2001 and became clinical nursing manager in 2008. She carried out her nurse training at a busy mixed practice in the Chilterns and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1999 with credit, she has since gone on to gain a HE Diploma in clinical veterinary nursing with specific focus on medicine, anaesthesia, theatre practice and a clinical coach certificate which enables her to train student nurses within practice to the approved standard set by the RCVS.
As well as overseeing the day to day running of the clinical areas she manages our team of nurses, kennel assistants and kit technicians and organises the procedures for the day liaising with all the departments involved which include imaging, theatre, medicine, cardiology and wards.
Her main priority is maintaining the high standard of nursing care and ensuring that each patient is cared for based on its own individual needs. Victoria enjoys her role and the opportunity it gives her to develop and implement new ideas that benefit the patients, owners and the practice.Her special areas of interest are medicine, diabetes, ICU and inpatient care as she finds the one to one patient contact and bond formed extremely rewarding and it enables her to utilise her skills to the fullest.
In her spare she enjoys spending time with her own animals which include her dogs Robbie and Bee, cats and rabbits. Seeing family and friends, going to the cinema, photography and reading.
