Worm Egg Counts

Worm egg counts are valuable in worm control programmes. At the Scarsdale Veterinary Group we have been integrating these into our worming programmes for over a decade. Worm egg counts tell us if there are any adult stronglyes producing eggs. They do not tell us if there any larval stages of worms, nor about tapeworms, so if you are using this as part of your worm control system you need to have treated larval stages (usually in winter) and tapeworms (usually in spring and/or summer). All of our samples are processed by our experienced laboratory team and all the samples are reported by an equine veterinary surgeon. This means that you get the best advice for your circumstances. If you wish to use this service please bring a fresh sample of faeces in a sample container clearly marked with you and your horses name and your contact number.
