Sarah Knight – Assistant Practice Manager
Sarah has recently taken on the role of Assistant Practice Manager at the farm and equine site. She previously worked for Scarsdale Vets both on reception and in administration, but over at Pride Veterinary Centre.
Sarah’s interests are based on the equine side and she holds a BSc (Hons) Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation degree and is a certified Equine Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist which she studied for alongside her final year of University at Bishop Burton College..
Outside of work Sarah enjoys performing with her local amateur dramatics company and tries to fit in some horse riding where she can. She’s very eager to get to grips with her new role and meet the team and clients!.
Christine Stoker – Head Receptionist
Christine is a local girl, growing up on the family farm in Shirley. She has a long history of involvement with Scarsdale Vets, beginning with her employment (fresh from leaving college) as Veterinary Nurse with Taylor Thompstone & Partners in 1975.
She has supported and witnessed the growth of the practice, in various roles, leaving (with her husband and young children) in 1999 to manage an eco tourism lodge near Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. During her time away she qualified as a behavioural analyst and was part of a team building a new student development programme with Cambridge University. Chris rejoined the practice in 2010 as Head Receptionist at Markeaton.
Christine has two teenage children, one of whom is following in their mother’s footsteps, becoming an accomplished owner/breeder of event horses.
Angela Woolley – Receptionist
Angela joined Scarsdale Vets in December 1988 and is one of Scarsdale’s longest serving members of staff. She comes from a farming background and is married to a keen sheep farmer.
She holds a BTEC in Customer Care, has extensive farm knowledge and is well known to many of our farming clients. She also has plenty of experience of the horsey world.
In her spare time she loves crafting, photography, reading and taking walks in the countryside
Tina Litherland – Receptionist
Tina joined Scarsdale Vets in December 2007, originally working as a receptionist and nursing assistant. She now works on reception part-time.
Tina previously owned a pony called ‘Ellie’ and still enjoys riding her friends Exmoor pony whenever time allows. When Tina is not at work, she has 4 children to keep her busy!
Charlotte Atkinson – Receptionist
Charlotte joined the Scarsdale Vets reception team at Markeaton in the Summer of 2012.
In her spare time, Charlotte looks after and rides her 2 horses, Bergerac and Tom and especially enjoys going out for long hacks down the lanes and onto the bridle paths. Charlotte also enjoys walking her dog Milo and spending time with her friends.
Rin Wynn – Receptionist
Rin joined the Scarsdale Vets reception team in December 2015 after working for Derby City Council.
A keen horse rider, Rin has owned horses for a number of years and currently owns a Welsh Cross Thoroughbred called Pilgrim.
Rin has been a client of Scarsdale Vets with both her current horse and her previous horse so understands the issues that horse owners face.
In her spare time, she enjoys hacking and walking her Whippet Bob.
