Equine Influenza has been confirmed in Leicestershire. Equine influenza (flu) is a serious respiratory infection in horses which can be very debilitating and affect a horses performance long term. Horses are routinely vaccinated against flu and tetanus – make sure your horse is up to date. All routine vaccinations are covered by our zone visit scheme (no visit charge in your area on set days – ask recepetion for details!). The vaccine that we use at the practice has the most up to date strains of flu in it offering maximun protection. We currently have a vaccine amenesty offer (until 12th Novemeber) if your horse has missed their vaccination to allow them to restart – no charge for the second vaccine!
