practices working effectively we have a small army of staff working tirelessly to provide you and your pets with the very best in veterinary care. This month we find out about Jessica Foster, Kennel Assistant working at the Pride Veterinary Centre Pet Resort.
When did you start working for Scarsdale Vets?
I started in December 2014 as an apprentice kennel assistant. I’ve always wanted to work with animals so the chance to do this whilst learning on the job seemed ideal. I have recently finished my apprenticeship now and was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to work as a full time kennel assistant in the Pet Resort at Pride Veterinary Centre.
What does your job entail on a day to day basis?
Mainly my job involves making the boar ding experience as pleasurable as possible for our guests. On a daily basis, tasks include: feeding and interacting with the dogs and cats (walking, play time, cuddles), cleaning and reception duties.
What do you love the most about working at Scarsdale Vets?
The thing I love the most about my job is definitely looking after the animals, we meet so many different characters and it’s lovely to know that they are being well looked after in our care. I also love the people I work with, we have a great little team up in the Pet Resort which makes for such a nice working atmosphere.
When you are not at work, tell us a little bit about what else you do?
I love doing things with my family. We do a variety of activities like go-karting, swimming, going for long walks, taking the dogs out and going out for meals. We also have Shetland ponies, so it’s nice to spend quality time with them too.
