Scarsdale Vets & Their Pets: Carol King

I have three dogs: Scout (male Dalmatian), Layla (female Dalmatian), and Millie Moo (female Border Terrier).

All of my dogs are rescue, Scout came as a foster (British Dalmatian Welfare) nearly 4 years ago (he was 3) and ended up staying as his family became homeless. Layla has been with me for about seven months (from Dalmatian Adoption Society and I am her 4th and forever home) and Millie Moo is from Many Tears Animal Rescue who specialise in rescuing dogs from puppy farms – poor Moo was a breeding dog, churning out pups for 7 years until unable to do it anymore.

I fell in love with Dalmatians when I got my first one, William from the RSPCA at Radcliffe-On-Trent. He chose me.

My first border terrier was gained in an act of rebellion. Leo came to me via my vet after my (now ex) husband told me I wasn’t allowed any more dogs!

Scout is a big nervous lump and a mummy’s boy (he is very spoilt), Moo is very timid and even after the 8 years she has been with me, she is still uncomfortable being cuddled (legacy of her background) and Layla is also known as loopy Lou!

What do I want people to know about my dogs – simply they are the most important things in my life, and they come before anything and anyone else.
