We have had a busy summer so far with local events. Being part of our local community is very important to us, so we were delighted to get the chance to go out and about to local events.
Spirit of Chellaston
We were at Spirit of Chellaston in June. It was definitely a hot one! We managed a few pet selfies and Verity even had to deal with a poor dog who had been out in the sun for a little too long. He was fine after a little TLC and a good drink of water.
We organised a family dog show at Duffield Carnival this year. It was a great success with over 100 entries across 5 categories, which included:
- Dog with the waggiest tail.
- Best junior handler.
- Dog who looks most like their owner.
- Most obedient dog.
- Open class.
All money raised from the dog show has been donated to the Lisa Foster Cancer Fight Fund and Ehlers-Danlos Support UK, with both receiving £100 each.
Derbyshire County Show
We were the duty vets at Derbyshire County Show for farm animals, horses and the dog show. We gave out loads of Scarsdale Vets doggie bandanas and really enjoyed meeting visitors to the stand and their canine friends!
Fortunately, although it was still warm, it was not too hot to take dogs out and we loved seeing so many pooches walking past with rosettes from the dog show.
Little Eaton Carnival
Little Eaton Carnival was very well attended. We held another pet selfie competition and we had some items available for sale and a bran tub for the kids. Robert and Karen from our Park Farm Practice had a lovely day meeting you all!
All the photos from the pet selfie competitions, including who has won can be seen on our Facebook page.
