We follow Helen’s journey as a veterinary nurse throughout her time at Scarsdale Vets.

Helen forms part of our clinic nursing team and has been with Scarsdale Vets since 2018.

Initially, Helen started her journey with us as a consulting nurse at Pride Veterinary Centre. Part of her duties there included flea/worm checks, new pet checks, admitting pets for procedures, post operative checks and weight clinics etc.

Helen also helped out at our other practices too providing cover when their regular nurse was away. This gave her the opportunity to continue with her back of house nursing skills such as anaesthetic monitoring and blood machine work.

Throughout her time at Pride Veterinary Centre Helen also developed new skills. She had the opportunity to learn and carry out BAER hearing tests on cats and dogs. Helen also provided some handling training for our client care team.

Helen then decided to take over a practice as the main nurse. She wanted the chance to develop her other nursing skills even further. This meant that she was able to get involved with equipment maintenance and some practice management duties e.g. stock take and working within a small team.

Helen thoroughly enjoys being the veterinary nurse at our Oakwood practice. It continues to bring new challenges and opportunities.
