Marcus was brought into Pride Veterinary Centre a few weeks ago after being hit by a car. He came in with open wounds to both hind legs. After assesing the X-Rays of Marcus we found that his chest and abdomen were OK but there were multiple fractures to the right hind leg. After consideration and discussion of various options it was decided that amputation would be the most effective course of action.

After an overnight stay in our dog wards Marcus was taken through to the prep area to be given general anaesthetic before being moved through to theatre for surgery. The surgery went well with no complications and after a couple more nights of rest and relaxation in the hospital Marcus was ready to go home. He will still need to come and visit us for a weeks for wound re-dressings and check-ups but he is doing brilliantly and carrying on as he was before the accident… Just on 3 legs instead of 4!
